The 34th London Great Pudding Race will also take place on December 6th 2014. The event is organised by CRAC on behalf of Cancer Research UK and supported by Fox’s and Covent Garden Market.
Teams in fancy dress – which in previous years have included cowboys, teapots and Ozzy Osbournes, Christmas trees and of course Christmas puddings – are currently polishing up their pudding-balancing skills ready for the race. The teams will negotiate the Its-A-Knockout-style course of inflatables and obstacles while balancing a Christmas pud on a tray and being pelted with flour, foam and water.
Last year the London race raised £21,000. For further information click here to visit the London website.
The Great Xmas Pudding Race took place in Brighton for the first time in December 2010. It was one of the wackiest races you have ever seen; the Pudding Race raised £8,500 for the Martlets Hospice and Cancer Research UK. The date for this year has not yet been announced.
The race is a challenge of dexterity, balance, speed and general silliness. You’ll be balancing your pudding on a tray whilst negotiating our perilous obstacle course. You’ll need to get together a team of seven people. The challenge will be staying on your feet, with your pudding. Fitness is not a requirement!
